Experts in timber since 1979, North Yorkshire Timber are looking to recruit Timber Fabrication Labourers to join their Warehousing and Distribution site in Brompton-on-Swale.

The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic, flexible and a reliable team player with good literacy and numeracy skills. An interest in, or previous experience of basic woodworking would be advantageous although not essential as full training will be given.

Duties will include:

  • Assisting in the assembly of timber components to order requirements
  • Completion of basic standard paperwork

Working hours and pay, either:

39 hours per week, Mon-Thurs 8.00am to 4.30pm, Fri 8.00am to 3.30pm, competitive basic hourly rate + all agreed hours worked over 39 paid at overtime rates.

or

37.5 hours per week Mon-Fri either 6.00am to 2.00pm or 2.00pm to 10.00pm, competitive hourly rate + percentage shift allowance paid for all basic 37.5 hours. Agreed hours over 37.5 paid at overtime rates.

Experts in Timber since 1979, NYTimber are looking to recruit a Counter/Yard Sales Person to join their well established branch on Gallowfields Trading Estate in Richmond.

The successful candidate will be a customer focused, confident and enthusiastic individual with excellent communication skills. We are particularly interested in hearing from applicants with experience in the Timber/Construction industry, however training is available for the right candidate.

Duties will include:

  • Customer sales and service
  • Using a till and handling payments
  • Ensuring the counter, showroom and branch are all clean, tidy and well presented
  • Following stock rotation procedures
  • Completing paperwork for orders
  • Dealing with telephone enquiries
  • Use of Company software packages
  • Use of basic woodworking machinery
  • Ensuring your working practices maintain branch security and health and safety

Hours, salary and benefits:

This is a permanent, full time role working 47 hours per week Mon - Fri 7.30am to 5.00pm and alternate Saturday mornings 8.00am to 12.00noon

The successful candidate will possess strong, demonstrable Administration experience, ideally gained in either a Personnel/HR or Payroll environment, although robust administrative skills are of greater importance. An organised, highly literate, numerate and flexible individual will thrive in this role.

Duties will include:

  • Preparation and maintenance of Personnel files
  • Filing
  • Answering the telephone
  • Photocopying
  • Typing documents
  • Maintenance of the Company's 'Stanley/Zeus' Time and Attendance software databases
  • Training administration
  • Preparation and maintenance of spreadsheets
  • Minute taking
  • Producing reports

Working hours and benefits:

The working hours and days are flexible and are initially expected to be in the region of 2-3 days per week 15-20 hours

The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic, flexible and a reliable team player and experienced HGV Class 2 driver who holds an HIAB Operators licence

Duties will include:

  • Loading goods for delivery
  • Delivering to customer across the region
  • Completion and checking of delivery paperwork

Working Hours and Benefits:

42.5 hours per week annualised, Monday - Friday daytime working which can involve early starts and the occasional Saturday morning on a rota basis

The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator, a confident, enthusiastic, customer focused and accomplished individual with a demonstrable sales background. We are particularly interested in hearing from applicants with experience in the Timber/Construction industry, however a strong sales background is the most attractive element for this vacancy.

Duties will include:

  • Promoting new products and supporting promotions and special offers
  • Achieving call targets (including cold calls) weekly
  • Pro-active selling, following up leads and enquiries promptly and efficiently
  • Responding to needs of the Branch and Sales Team
  • Chasing up 'lapsed' customers
  • Achieving best possible price for all orders
  • Calling own ledger customers regularly
  • Monitoring existing customer base for market information
  • Ensuring the needs of both retail and trade customers are fulfilled
  • Optimising add on sales

Working hours and benefits:

A full time role working Monday - Friday 8.00am to 5.00pm and 1 in 3 Saturday mornings 8.00am to 12.00noon

Salary is negotiable within the banding, dependent on previous skills and experience
